This paired with his amazing Unique Abilities makes SP Goku Black GRN a mainstay on Future and a consistent core unit.
True to the nature of most Transforming units, his base stats are also incredible. His Extra Move might not seem like much at face value due to it simply “destroying cards and redrawing them”, but due to the aforementioned Unique Ability, it’s currently one of the more effective Extra Moves in the game. He's held up phenomenally well in a game littered with oppressive Zenkais.Ī lot of his toolkit revolves around his “The Pain Etched in Me” Unique Ability, which restores 10 Ki and gives him 10% damage inflicted when he draws a card.
He can’t take a hit, and it takes him a few Combos to really get going. He’s excessively fragile, has no card draw speed, and needs some time to build up his Damage uniques.Īt 3 stars, he really struggles against some of the better Teams in the game which are filled with Zenkai units with massive base stats. He’s an excellent beatstick with a potentially game-changing Extra Move, and his cover nullification is extremely valuable in this meta. It's hard to shine and be at his best when another unit on his team should be the last unit alive in almost every instance. Alternatively, if he's used on Son Family, it's preferable the Last Man Standing unit is SP SSJ2 Gohan RED, which in turn is simply another flaw for SP Angry Goku BLU. SP Angry Goku BLU does work well on a Blast variation of Saiyan, but really slows down the Bardock-led Super Saiyan team due to his 15 timer count prerequisite in order to actually turn into a Super Saiyan. Needing to wait multiple timer counts to Transform, needing to wait multiple timer counts for a significant Damage increase, his clunky force-switch Extra Move, one-dimensional form of Attack as well as the fact that he needs teammates to start dying in order to really inflict some serious punishment really holds him back. While he's hard to take down and is on some of the best teams in the game, he has his fair share of flaws as well. SP Angry Goku BLU is still good, but by no means the oppressive force he used to be. He's woeful for the first 15 timer counts due to needing to Transform, his Special Move is not that difficult to play around in most instances, and he's predominantly a last-man-standing fighter. He's a stat-beast of a Zenkai with an excellent supporting cast on every team he's played on.
